Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Prior to treatment, a simple blood sample of 10-20 mls is extracted from the patient. This blood is immediately placed in the centrifuge for 5-8 minutes. When centrifugation is complete your plasma will be separated from your red blood cells where the rich platelets are extracted from the base of the plasma gel. The platelets are then injected into the deep dermis or fat layer of the skin.

PRP is derived from you own biological make-up and does not contain synthetic products, therefore, virtually any area of the body can be treated such as: face, neck, chest, hands, scars, etc.

Overall, the results are gradual and will vary from person to person based on health, age, and genetic make-up. Most patients enjoy quantifiable improvements in skin complexion texture, and tone usually within 3 weeks. Subtle improvement can progressively continue for up to a year.

As we are regenerating collagen, lasting results will depend on the care and maintenance of your skin. However, 2-3 treatments will help results last up to 18 months.

Because all constitutes retrieved in PRP are exclusively from you, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or intolerance. However, as with all skin injection procedures, there may be temporary injection site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration.
