Lutronic's PicoPlus Laser is a Pico-second laser which fires in shorter pulses (1000 times shorter than conventional nano second laser) making it highly effective and safer in comparison to traditional lasers. It works by photo-acoustic mechanism which shatters pigmentation into smaller fragments, which will then be cleared by the body's immune system.
PicoPlus laser has five different hand pieces (1064nm, 532nm, 595nm, 660nm, dual focused handpiece) which makes it versatile to treat multiple conditions such as below:
PicoPlus ultra-short pulses and specialized wavelengths work together to minimize the amount of heat that is transferred. Less heat means less damage to surrounding skin and less risk of injury.
After laser treatments for removal of tattoos and unwanted pigment, the skin is more vulnerable to sunlight, hence, minimizing sun exposure and use of sunscreen of SPF30 + is recommended.
The number of PicoPlus treatments for unwanted pigmentation will vary depending on the condition being treated and how each individual responds.
For tattoo removal, the size, location and density of ink play important roles in how quickly clearance can be achieved, but generally, 4-10 treatments is common for modern tattoos.
The number of treatments for skin revitalization is largely dependent on the clinical condition being addressed but 2-5 treatments are common. During consultation, our doctors will be able to provide you with a personalized treatment plans.
Tattoo removal and acne scar results are permanent. Skin revitalization treatment results are long lasting, but some pigment conditions can be recurrent, and collagen degeneration is a countinuous process of ageing.
Your skin will be numbed prior to the treatment. Most patients experience little discomfort like sensation of snapping a rubber band on the skin. Tattoo removal treatments use more energy, hence you may experience more discomfort, however, you will be prepped with numb cream and cooled air to ease your discomfort.
Post procedure, you will have a generalized redness and mild swelling on the treated area. This last typically for 24-72 hours, but most patients recover within the first 24 hours. There will be no bleeding, scabbing, peeling or open wounds on the skin. You may apply makeup or concealers post treatment.
Generally, you may resume your daily activities as per usual after the treatment. We advise you to avoid direct, high-intensity sun exposure for a few days after the treatment. Sunscreen application is recommended.
