WHAT TO EXPECT?

BEFORE THE TREATMENT

The effectiveness of Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser treatments depends on the specific condition being addressed and the parameters set by the qualified medical doctors. At The M∙A∙C∙Clinic, a one-to-one consultation is advised to determine the most appropriate treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.

Typically, each treatment session lasts between 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the condition being treated, the size of the area treated, and the complexity of the condition being addressed.

Most patients experience minimal discomfort. Sensations may range from a slight sting or warming to more noticeable discomfort, depending on the treatment area and individual pain tolerance. Topical anaesthetics or cooling systems are often used to reduce discomfort during the procedure.

Results are often visible after the first session, but multiple treatments (usually 3 to 6) may be required for optimal results, particularly for conditions such as deep pigmentation or extensive vascular lesions. Tattoo removal may require more sessions.

Yes, Q-Switched Nd:YAG lasers are generally safe for all skin types, including darker skin tones. However, a personalised assessment by a qualified aesthetic doctor is essential to customise the treatment according to individual skin needs.

AFTER THE TREATMENT

Recovery time is usually minimal. Patients may experience temporary redness, swelling, or mild discomfort, which typically resolves within a few days. Most people can return to their normal activities immediately.

Common side effects include redness, swelling, blistering, and temporary crusting. Your doctor will provide comprehensive post-procedure care guidelines. Following these instructions closely will help minimise side effects and reduce any potential risks.
