ABOUT THE TREATMENT
Dermal fillers such as Juvéderm® are popular smooth gel filler that instantly smooth away wrinkles. As a FDA approved hyaluronic acid filler, Juvéderm® is very well-tolerated as hyaluronic acid is a natural substance in the body, thus it is less likely to create allergy issues. It helps smoothen out unwanted wrinkles and restore natural contours by adding volume to the dermal layer and below, returning to a state similar to that of youth.
It is recommended for treatment of the following:

- Filling in acne scars
- Enhancing cheekbones to make them fuller and more defined

WHAT TO EXPECT?
BEFORE THE TREATMENT
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injection, your doctor may choose to numb (anesthetize) the treatment area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream to further minimize discomfort.
The injection procedure takes approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on the areas treated. You will also need to allow time to consult with your doctor prior to treatment.
AFTER THE TREATMENT
Results are instant. You will see an immediate improvement in the treatment area. Most people need only one treatment to achieve an optimal outcome.
The unique formulation of Juvéderm® is clinically proven to last at least one year with a single treatment. However, supplemental "touch-up" treatments may be required to achieve and maintain the desired look.
Most patients are in and out of the physician’s office with minimal or no downtime. Usually, you may return to your daily routine immediately.
Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting (7 days or less). The most common side effects include temporary skin reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, or discoloration.
