ABOUT THE TREATMENT

The Cutera Excel V safely and effectively treat both tiny superficial face veins and deeper blue leg veins on both men and women of all skin tones. The Cutera Excel V delivers pulses of light energy, which causes the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin's surface, where it should be.

Cutera Excel V

It is recommended for treatment of the following:

WHAT TO EXPECT?

BEFORE THE TREATMENT

Laser treatment varies depending on the size and extent of the area being treated.

Studies of Cutera Excel laser vein removal indicate that most of the veins are permanently destroyed. However, in some rare cases where a certain percentage of the veins are injured, but not completely destroyed, will reopen or develop new veins. Therefore, you may require more treatments depending on the severity of the condition.

Most patients describe the treatment as mildly uncomfortable but not painful. The treatment sensation is compared to the "snap" of a rubber band. No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required although you may request local anesthesia for sensitive areas. Cooling gel pads are usually applied before and after the treatment and a cooling gel is used during the procedure.

Generally, it takes approximately 2 to 3 treatments, at monthly intervals, to effectively treat the veins. Usually 3 treatments will be sufficient to achieve maximal benefit for vein therapy.

Yes, people of all skin types and tones can be treated. However, darker skin tones require more treatments.

AFTER THE TREATMENT

Within a few minutes after the treatment, the treated area will usually become slightly red and puffy. This reaction usually subsides within a few hours although some mild redness may persist for up to 2 days. You can return to your normal activities immediately.

Some initial redness or local swelling is not uncommon, but it usually lasts only a few hours or days. In rare cases, some patients may experience bruising and blistering.
