AHA Peel

All chemical peels involve applying a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of skin.

Treatment usually takes about 20-30 minutes, but the aesthetician may vary the concentration of the chemical solution or the length of time of the treatment.

Most patients experience a tingling sensation during the peel process, but very few report any pain. A neutralising lotion is applied immediately after the peel application to eliminate any discomfort.

Yes, the AHA peel is designed for all skin types, from light to dark, including tanned patients.

Clients are usually able to engage in normal public activities the day after an AHA peel. Redness similar to a mild sunburn lasting 24-48 hours and mild exfoliation lasting 2-5 days (however this is uncommon). You may apply makeup as you wish.

Following any chemical peel, your skin may be slightly sensitive for 1-4 days therefore it is extremely important to protect your skin through the use of a non-chemical sun protection (SPF 30 or higher) at all times. Nonetheless, duration and severity of down time depends on the strength of the peel and individual factors.

One AHA peel will immediately leave your skin feeling fresh however for long term and significant results we recommend a course of six weekly treatments once a year.

While the risks are minimal for this treatment, patients can experience some redness and itching. Swelling and allergic reactions are rare.
